The William T. Grant Foundation defines plagiarism as the appropriation of another’s ideas, words, data, or other form of scholarship without proper attribution. In every document submitted to the Foundation, researchers should always properly attribute their own or others’ work. Grantees and applicants should always acknowledge the use of others’ work, whether it is used verbatim or paraphrased. They should also acknowledge use of their own earlier published works. Plagiarism in a submitted proposal is grounds for disqualification.
